Power Electronics textbook

Principles of Power Electronics, 2nd Edition

This course covers modeling, analysis, design, control, and application of circuits for energy conversion and control. As described by the IEEE, power electronics technology “encompasses the use of electronic components, the application of circuit theory and design techniques, and the development of analytical tools toward efficient electronic conversion, control, and conditioning of electric power.”

Students taking this class will come away with an understanding of the fundamental principles of power electronics, and knowledge of how to both analyze and design power electronic components and systems.

Aaron Snowberger earned his Ph.D. in Information and Communications Engineering from Hanbat National University in South Korea in 2023. He also holds degrees in Computer Science and Media Design. He has taught technology courses for over 8 years, English for over 15 years, and has freelanced as a web developer and magazine designer for over 5 years. His current research interests include computer vision, natural language processing, image processing, signal processing, and machine learning.
